Mackerel baked in the oven with lemon and onions - an ideal dish for a family dinner and for a festive table. It looks very spectacular, can be served with any side dish, salad with fresh vegetables, white wine. Try baking mackerel with lemon and onions in foil using my recipe. Only 7 simple ingredients, but how delicious and healthy! ??
Ingredients
- 1 mackerel (500 g)
- 1 onion (150 g)
- 1 lemon
- 2 pcs laurel leaf
- parsley (a couple of sprigs)
- salt and ground pepper (to taste, I put 0.5 tsp. each)
Instructions
- Prepare all the products.

- Cut the fish - cut off the head with a knife and gut the mackerel. Then rinse it well with water.

- Peel the onion and cut it into rings.

- Cut the lemon in half. Cut one half into thin slices. Remove the zest from the other half of the lemon with a fine grater and then squeeze the juice into a separate bowl.

- Wash and finely chop the parsley. Place the mackerel on a sheet of foil and make cross cuts (on one side).

- Place the lemon slices into the incisions. I had some lemon circles left over, so I distributed them randomly around the mackerel. Sprinkle the fish with lemon zest, parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.

- Arrange the onion rings around the mackerel, add the bay leaf and drizzle the dish with lemon juice.

- Wrap the mackerel with lemon and onions in foil (not too tightly) and send it to the oven. I baked this dish for 35 minutes at 190°C.

- Baked mackerel in foil is ready! You can serve it in foil, garnished with sprigs of fresh herbs, or on a beautiful plate.
