The key to juicy and tasty shawarma is a properly prepared sauce. Today I will share with you a classic recipe. This sauce is perfect for shawarma with any meat: chicken, turkey, lamb, beef, pork. And it is prepared from quite affordable products, in 10-15 minutes!
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. sour cream (the fatter the sour cream, the thicker your sauce will be)
- 150 ml ryazhenka (recommended fat content - not less than 4%, or better 6%)
- 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 clove garlic
- 0.5 pcs lemon
- 10 g sugar
- salt and hmeli-suneli (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare all the products.

- In the container where you will prepare the sauce for your shawarma, mix the sour cream, ryazhenka and mayonnaise.

- Squeeze the juice out of the lemon and make sure the pips don't get into the sauce. Advice for you - to make the lemon give more juice, wash it with very hot water beforehand.

- Add sugar and salt to the sauce (I have previously tried to make shawarma sauce with sea salt, it is also delicious).

- Peel the garlic clove and mince it with a press. If you don't have a press, you can grate the garlic on a fine grater or chop it finely with a knife. Add it to the sauce.

- Add the hops. Stir your sauce until smooth. I will note that hops and suneli is a component of the classic shawarma sauce. If you like other spices, herbs - add to your taste, experiment!
