Hummus is a snack made from chickpea puree. What is hummus nut eaten with? It goes perfectly with both meat and fish dishes. Also this snack is popular among vegans, vegetarians and those who adhere to a healthy diet, fasting. Making hummus is as easy as mashed potatoes ?
Ingredients
- 250 g chickpeas
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- 3 tbsp. lemon juice (about half a lemon)
- 0.5 tsp zither (cumin)
- 3 tbsp. tahini paste
- 3-4 tbsp. olive oil
- 0.5 tsp salt
Instructions
- Prepare all the ingredients.

- Rinse the chickpeas several times. To reduce the cooking time, soak the chickpeas in water for at least 3-4 hours (overnight is better).

- Cook the chickpeas on low heat in salted water until tender (I cooked them for about an hour). You can tell when the chickpeas are ready by pressing on a pea, it should be soft and kneaded well.

- Remove the pan from the heat and drain the chickpeas. This broth will come in handy for adjusting the consistency of the hummus. Add the tahini paste (sold in almost any supermarket) to the chickpeas.

- Then add the crushed garlic, salt and lemon juice.

- Add the zira and olive oil to the chickpeas.

- Grind the chickpeas with an immersion blender until paste-like. Adjust the consistency with the broth (I needed about half a cup). Taste to taste, you may want to add salt or lemon juice.

- It doesn't take long to prepare the vegan hummus. Just a splash of olive oil and this tasty snack is ready to serve (I added a little more paprika).
